On March 26, 2026, Saigon Port Joint Stock Company (Saigon Port) received and worked with a delegation from KR STAR LINE PTE. LTD (China), led by Mr. Jame Wang, Director of the company.
During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Uyen Minh, Deputy General Director, on behalf of Saigon Port’s leaderships, provided an overview of terminal network, operational capacity, and logistics services. With extensive port system and connection role in the regional supply chain, Saigon Port affirms development orientation linked to expanding international cooperation. Notably, Saigon Port also introduced the Can Gio International Transshipment and Gateway Port project – a key strategic development expected to enhance Vietnam’s container transshipment capacity, strengthen connectivity to major international shipping routes, and create new opportunities for cooperation in port operations and logistics services.

On the KR STAR LINE side, representatives shared insights into the current volatility of the global shipping market, driven by supply chain disruptions, geopolitical uncertainties, and shifting international trade flows. In response to these challenges, shipping companies are increasingly focusing on market diversification, network expansion, and stronger cooperation with partners. Vietnam was identified as a promising market thanks to its stable trade growth, while Saigon Port was recognized as one of the important gateways in KR STAR LINE’s strategy to expand operations in the region.

Based on these discussions, both sides explored opportunities to enhance maritime route connectivity, improve port operational efficiency, and expand logistics services, with the aim of establishing a long-term partnership capable of adapting to evolving market conditions.

The meeting took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, reflecting strong commitment of both parties to expanding cooperation, developing new markets, and enhancing port operational capabilities, thereby contributing to stronger maritime connectivity in the current landscape.
