As an annual event, the conference serves as a significant platform to promote workers’ rights, strengthen dialogue, and align on development directions for the coming period.

Presenting the 2025 performance report, Mr. Nguyen Uyen Minh stated that despite ongoing challenges and intensifying competition within the regional port industry, Saigon Port achieved encouraging results and fulfilled most of planned targets thanks to the strong direction of management and the collective efforts of employees.

Business operations remained stable, while the Company successfully maintained market share in imported steel cargo. The expansion of the warehouse system also contributed to higher cargo throughput in the Hiep Phuoc area operated by Saigon Gateway Port Joint Stock Company (SGT).

At the same time, Saigon Port continued to modernize management practices through the implementation of the 3Ps salary system, the adoption of a centralized management model, and accelerated digital transformation in customer service and marketing via CRM platform. The improvement program also delivered positive results, with 177 Kaizen initiatives, exceeding the annual target. Employee training remained a key priority throughout the year.

In addition, affiliated and joint-venture companies contributed positively to the Company’s overall performance. Most KPI management targets were achieved, creating a basis for the next stage of development.

Alongside the business activities, Saigon Port prioritized employee welfare through the full implementation of labor policies and benefits, ensuring stable employment and improved average income compared to the previous year.

A wide range of welfare programs included company trips and vacations, 24/7 accident insurance, voluntary health insurance up to VND 4.5 million per employee, holiday and birthday gifts, periodic health check-ups, and timely support for employees facing difficult circumstances.

The 2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement was effectively implemented, with several provisions offering benefits beyond statutory requirements, thereby safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of employees.

In addition, Saigon Port actively engaged in social responsibility through various meaningful initiatives, such as supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, assisting communities in recovering from storm and flood damage, contributing to the Association for Victims of Agent Orange, supporting the Red Cross, and participating in many other charitable activities.

These efforts reflected the Company’s strong commitment to social responsibility while reinforcing the image of Saigon Port as a responsible and community-oriented enterprise.

Another important part was the dialogue session, where employees’ recommendations and concerns were openly discussed. Topics centered on salary and bonus policies, overtime allowances, job classifications, investment in equipment, and IT-related training. The Presidium responded directly and transparently, demonstrating a constructive approach and a strong commitment to supporting employees.

Notably, Saigon Port officially adopted a centralized management model in early 2025 and began implementing the 3Ps salary system in July 2025. As this marks the initial phase of the transition, personnel organization and  compensation framework are still being refined to better align with operational realities.

In 2026, alongside ongoing restructuring efforts, workforce planning, and training effectiveness, the Human Resources Department will focus on enhancing the human resource management and salary policies toward greater transparency and fairness.

Building on the achievements attained, the conference identified the key objectives for 2026, with a focus on fulfilling business targets while proactively adapting to Ho Chi Minh City’s development planning orientation.

Accordingly, Saigon Port will maintain stable operations in the Tan Thuan area while gradually preparing for the transition associated with the Thu Thiem 4 Bridge project. The Company also plans to retain part of the Nha Rong – Khanh Hoi area and collaborate with partners to develop night-time economy models that both enhance commercial value and preserve the site’s historical significance. At the same time, key projects will be accelerated, alongside efforts to expand market presence, particularly in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, in order to create new growth opportunities in the coming years.

Presentations delivered by Tan Thuan and Nha Rong Khanh Hoi Terminal Operation Centers highlighted the units’ proactive preparations to adapt to the City’s planning requirements, reaffirming Saigon Port’s commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable development.

In his remarks at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Hai, Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Vice Chairman of VIMC Trade Union, acknowledged and congratulated Saigon Port on its achievements in 2025, particularly its ability to maintain double-digit business growth while ensuring stable employment and income for employees despite ongoing market fluctuations.

He emphasized that 2026 would be a milestone year, marking the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, and the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the VIMC Trade Union. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the VIMC Trade Union.

According to Mr. Pham Van Hai, these milestones place higher expectations on trade unions and enterprises in terms of innovation, operational efficiency, and improving employee welfare. He encouraged Saigon Port to continue fostering solidarity, modernizing its management model, and improving operational effectiveness in line with Ho Chi Minh City’s development planning orientation, while further protecting employees’ legitimate rights and interests.
