In the context of increasingly demanding requirements for flexibility and efficiency in business and production activities, enhancing problem-solving skills and creative thinking has become an essential need for every individual within the organization. To meet this development demand, on April 24th, 2025, at the Auditorium of Saigon Port Joint Stock Company (Saigon Port), the training course “Creative thinking in problem solving” was successfully organized, attracting a large number of staff members from various departments of Saigon Port.

Mr. Nguyen Le Chon Tam – General Director of Saigon Port remarked before the beginning.

Through the training program, learners were guided on how to form a positive mindset and enhance creative thinking in problem-solving by applying various tools such as the Ishikawa method, the 5Why’s technique and mind mapping, … to explore innovative and effective solutions. In addition, the course aimed to strengthen communication skills and equip individuals with the ability to formulate personalized action plans based on the knowledge acquired.

The training session was structured around two core focuses: problem-solving skills and decision-making skills – both of which are essential competencies that empower staff to respond flexibly and effectively to complex workplace situations. Through the use of root cause analysis models, clearly defined goal-setting and the evaluation of potential action plans, employees were equipped with foundational knowledge in systems thinking, critical thinking and the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure. A distinctive highlight of this course was the group practical exercises, where theoretical knowledge was “activated” into action through realistic simulation scenarios inspired by actual operations at Saigon Port. In this setting, learners embarked on a collaborative journey of “problem decoding” with enthusiasm and full of positive energy. Each member proactively shared perspectives, contributed ideas and co-created practical solutions. This activity not only served as an opportunity to apply creative thinking in real-world contexts but also fostered connection, inspired a spirit of innovation and molded the collective strength of Saigon Port.

The small shifts in mindset today will lay the groundwork for significant progress in the future. Guided by this spirit, Saigon Port is steadily advancing toward its vision of becoming a modern, dynamic and regionally competitive seaport. This investment in human resources reflects a strong commitment to shaping a pioneering and sustainable Saigon Port in the future.
